UGBS Associate Professor, Kobby Mensah Appointed CEO of Ghana Tourism Development Company
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Associate Professor of Marketing, Kobby Mensah, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited (GTDC). Prof. Mensah’s appointment as CEO of GTDC is expected to bring a strong academic and strategic perspective to the development of Ghana’s tourism industry. His extensive experience in marketing, policy engagement, and brand positioning aligns with GTDC’s mandate to drive tourism investments and enhance sector efficiency.
UGBS Alumni Association Holds Handover Ceremony
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Alumni Association held a handing-over ceremony on 31st January 2025 at the Executive Hall, UGBS. The event was moderated by the School Administrator, Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, who also introduced the newly elected executives. The ceremony was chaired by Prof. William Coffie, Head of the Department of Accounting.
UGBS and Department of Economics Introduce BoG Chair to Bank of Ghana Governors
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the Department of Economics at the University of Ghana have officially introduced the first Bank of Ghana (BoG) Chair in Finance and Economics, Prof. Imhotep Y. P. Alagidede, to the Bank’s governors. The introduction took place on 29th January 2025, at the Bank of Ghana premises with key officials, including Dr. Ernest Addison, Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, First Deputy Governor and Chair of the University of Ghana’s College of Humanities Board, and Mrs.
UGBS Accounting Students Association Host Seminar on Accounting and ESG Practices
On 22nd January 2025, the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Accounting Students Association (ASA), in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and Makers and Partners Chartered Accountants, have organized a seminar on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices for a sustainable future at the R. S. Amegashie Auditorium.

Vienna University of Economics and Business, Welthandelsplatz (WU) Explores Collaborative Opportunities with University of Ghana Business School (UGBS)
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) hosted Prof. Jonas Puck, Dean for International Affairs from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), Welthandelsplatz, on Monday, 20th January 2025 to explore areas of mutual interest and potential collaboration. The meeting was held at the UGBS Dean’s Office, with Prof. Justice N. Bawole, Dean of UGBS, some faculty members of UGBS and the International Programmes Office.
