What a week it’s been at the University of Ghana Business School! If you were anywhere near campus this past week, you definitely felt the energy in the air. UGBS came alive for the 45th Management Week celebration, and this year’s edition was truly special. Spearheaded by the Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department, the entire week centered around a powerful theme: “Marketing, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship as Catalysts for Success in a 24-Hour Economy".

Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor Becomes First Female Full Professor at University of Ghana Business School

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has marked a significant milestone in its history with the promotion of Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor to the rank of full professor, making her the first woman to attain this prestigious academic title at the school. A seasoned scholar in Health Policy and Management, Prof. Abor’s promotion crowns over a decade of distinguished service in academia, research, leadership, and public service. 

UGBS Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management and Project Management Institute Ghana Signs MoU

The University of Ghana Business School Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM) and the Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 14th July 2025 to strengthen collaboration in project management education and practice at the Graduate School. 

UGBS 1994 Alumni Year Group Holds Breakfast Meeting with Students as Part of Management Week Celebration

The 1994 Year Group of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) held a breakfast engagement with students on 14th July 2025 at the R. S. Amegashie Auditorium. As part of the official sponsors for the 45th Management Celebration, the alumni aimed to provide mentorship, share life experiences, and equip students with the knowledge needed to navigate life and career successfully. The session featured distinguished alumni who offered insightful guidance on personal branding, career planning, and professional development. 

UGBS FINSA CELEBRATES 2025 FINSA WEEK

University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Finance Students Association (FINSA) organised a two-day seminar, including a professional summit and CV Review, from 8th to 9th July to celebrate 2025 FINSA Week, a week-long celebration at R. S. Amegashie Hall. The seminar, under the leadership of Priscillia Ogor, President of FINSA, bridged the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application.  

UGBS Insurance Students Embark on Educational Visit to KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd

The Insurance Students Association of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) embarked on an educational visit to KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd on Thursday, 11th July 2025, as part of efforts to expose students to the practical aspects of the insurance industry. The engagement began with a presentation on the history and operations of KEK Insurance Brokers, one of Ghana’s leading insurance brokerage firms with over 35 years of experience.

Matilda Adams

Dr. Matilda Adams is a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School. She holds both a PhD and an MPhil in Marketing from the University of Ghana. Before joining the University of Ghana Business School, Dr. Adams was a faculty member at Methodist University Ghana. She also has extensive experience in the private sector, having held senior management and marketing positions. Her research focuses on behavioural change, social media marketing, sustainability, and consumer behaviour.
