Hanan Yakubu
Dr. Hanan Yakubu is a Lecturer in the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems at the University of Ghana Business School. She earned her PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Dr. Yakubu’s teaching and research focus on operations and management science, data analytics, and soft computing techniques.

Dean of UGBS Prof. Justice N. Bawole Delivers Inaugural Lecture on Corruption, Ethics, and Public Administration
The Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Prof. Justice Nyigmah Bawole, delivered his inaugural lecture on 10th July 2025, at the Great Hall, University of Ghana. The lecture was titled Our Corruption, Our Ethics, Our Public Administration: Wicked Citizens, Wicked Problems, and Stagnating Development. It offered a compelling examination of Ghana’s development challenges through the lens of ethics, public administration, and the shared complicity of citizens in corruption.
University Council Approves Promotions of Five UGBS Faculty Members to Full Professors
The University Council, at its meeting held on 3rd July 2025, approved the promotion of five faculty members of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to the rank of full Professor. The promotions are in recognition of their scholarly contributions, teaching excellence, and dedicated service to the University. The newly promoted Professors are Prof. Vera Ogeh Lassey Fiador, Department of Finance, Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor, Department of Health Services Management, Prof. Albert Kobby Mensah, Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Prof.
Akatsi Senior Technical High School Engages UGBS on Tertiary Education and Opportunities
On Wednesday, 3rd July 2025, the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) hosted students and staff from Akatsi Senior Technical High School as part of an educational visit aimed at introducing the students to university life and guiding them on the academic and career opportunities available at UGBS. Dr. Saviour Ayertey Nubuor, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM), led a detailed and interactive session with the students.
UGBS Hosts AfriquEurope Conference on Sustainable Economic Development
The University of Ghana Business School hosted the AfriquEurope Conference on the EU and Africa’s Sustainable Economic Development from July 1st to 2nd, 2025, to discuss strategies for sustainable growth and stronger partnerships between Africa and Europe. AfriquEurope, coordinated by the University of Peloponnese, Greece, in collaboration with the Ghana Scholarly Society and the University of Ghana, and co-funded by the European Union (EU), took place at the Graduate School.
UGBS hosts the President of FCMA, CGMA and CIMA
A delegation from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) visited the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to engage with both faculty and students. The delegation was led by Ms. Sarah Ghosh, FCMA, CGMA, President of CIMA and Co-Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, Ms. Tariro Mutizwa, Regional Vice President of AICPA and CIMA, Africa, along with other executives from CIMA Ghana.

UGBS International Relations Office Hosts GNAM Week
The International Relations Office of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) from 16th to 20th June hosted another successful edition of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) week to foster global connections and knowledge sharing among business professionals and students. The event was held at the UGBS, Graduate Campus, bringing together participants from the University of Cape Town, Strathmore University, Lagos Business School, Yale University, University of California, Berkeley, and UGBS.
