Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Joseph A. Yaro Engages Staff on Development Agenda

The new Provost of the College of Humanities at the University of Ghana, Prof. Joseph Awetori Yaro, has met with staff members to discuss his vision for the development of the College. The meeting was held at the R. S. Amegashie Auditorium of the University of Ghana Business School on 19th December 2024. This engagement provided an opportunity for him to outline strategies to position the College as a leader in global academic excellence. 

NLA Donates Generator Set to UGBS to Enhance Reliable Energy Solutions

The National Lottery Authority (NLA), led by its Director-General, Hon. Sammy Awuku, has donated a generator set to the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to support academic activities through reliable energy solutions. The donation ceremony took place on 19th December 2024, at the UGBS undergraduate campus. In attendance were staffs and faculty members. 

UGBS Hosts Launch of the Financial Literacy Educators Association Ghana (FLEAG)

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) hosted the official launch of the Financial Literacy Educators Association Ghana (FLEAG) on 18th December 2024 at the R. S. Amegashie Auditorium. The event brought together prominent stakeholders, financial experts, educators, students, advocates for financial literacy, and UGBS alumni to champion the cause of improving financial literacy across Ghana.

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) recently hosted a Staff Durbar and End-of-Year Party on 18th December 2024 at the R.S. Amegashie Hall. The event brought together faculty and staff members to celebrate the year’s achievements and discuss strategies for improving academic excellence as well as the welfare of staffs. 

UGBS Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship Partners with Promasidor for Content Marketing Lecture

On 16th December, the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), led by Dr. Sheena Lovia Boateng, Senior Lecturer, UGBS, partnered with Promasidor to deliver a lecture on content marketing for UGBS students. The lectures that took place on the Main UGBS and Accra City campuses aimed at preparing students for the competitive job market.

Prof. Godfred Bokpin, a Professor of Finance at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has urged Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama to prioritise a competent team to address Ghana’s economic challenges. This was captured in the article, “Addressing economic challenges: New govt needs a solid team- Experts” by the Daily Graphic on Friday 13th December 2024. Prof. Bokpin was among 3 other experts who shared their perspectives and expectations about the next president -elect and his government. 

Researchers Present Thesis at the 2nd Emerging Countries International Conference Hosted by University of Ghana Business School

As part of the 2nd Emerging Countries International Conference (ECIC) on Business, Finance, and Economics hosted by the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) from 3rd to 5th December 2024, PhD candidates and researchers had the opportunity to present their research papers. Each presenter was assigned a discussant, who provided recommendations, corrections, and suggestions. The audience also critiqued the presented research papers, contributing to their improvement.

UGBS Student Saves Passenger Mid-Air on KLM Flight

Dr. Joyce Emefa Addo-Klah, a student at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has demonstrated exceptional leadership and professionalism by saving a passenger during a medical emergency onboard KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Flight KL 589 from Amsterdam to Accra on 11th December 2024. 

UGBS Hosts the 2nd Emerging Countries International Conference on Business, Finance and Economics.

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) hosted the 2nd Emerging Countries International Conference (ECIC) from 3rd to 5th December 2024, at the school’s Graduate Campus. The three-day event, themed “The Intersection between AI, Productivity, and Growth in Emerging Countries,” brought together stakeholders, academics, PhD candidates, editors, politicians, and research enthusiasts to discuss the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in emerging economies. The event was in partnership with the University of Mauritius and Stellenbosch University.

UGBS Professor of Health Services Management, Roger Atinga, Appointed Board Chair of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG)

Prof. Roger Atinga, a professor and researcher in the Department of Health Services Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has been appointed as the Board Chair of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG). Prof. Atinga’s appointment is based on his significant contributions to CHAG as a former board and technical committee member, his extensive experience in Ghana’s healthcare system, and his deep understanding of healthcare governance and policy.
