UGBS Faculty and Staff Win 8 Awards at the 4th College of Humanities Awards Ceremony
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) faculty and staff excelled at the 4th College of Humanities (CoH) Awards Ceremony, held on 14th August 2025 at the Cedi Conference Centre Auditorium. The event organised under the auspices of the Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Joseph A. Yaro, honoured dedicated faculty, staff, and stakeholders whose contributions continue to drive the College’s vision.

UGBS Department of Accounting Organises Accounting Research Seminar
University of Ghana Business School Department of Accounting organised an Accounting Research Seminar for MPhil and PhD students from 12th to 15th August 2025 at the Graduate School. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ research skills, introduce advanced methodologies, and provide guidance on developing high-quality dissertation topics.
UGBS Professor, William Coffie, Appointed Acting Managing Director of Cocoa Processing Company Limited
Prof. William Coffie, a faculty member at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the Acting Managing Director of Cocoa Processing Company Limited (CPC). This appointment comes at a critical time for CPC, a key player in Ghana’s cocoa value chain, which is currently facing significant financial and operational challenges. The company processes cocoa beans into semi-finished and finished products for both local and international markets.
Meet Ghana’s First Female Full Professor of Finance
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) proudly celebrates Prof. (Mrs.) Vera Ogeh Fiador (née Soli) who has achieved a historic milestone by becoming Ghana’s first female full Professor of Finance. Her promotion marks a significant breakthrough for women in academia and the finance profession in Ghana. Prof. Fiador is currently the Head of the Department of Finance at UGBS, and she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

UGBS Department of Accounting Holds Two-Day Workshop for Undergraduate and Graduate Students
The Department of Accounting at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) organised a two-day workshop for undergraduate and graduate students studying accounting. The event took place on 28th and 29th July 2025 at the R.S. Amegashie Auditorium and the Graduate Building, respectively. The workshop aimed at equipping students with both practical and scholarly accounting skills and was facilitated by Prof. Akwasi Ampofo, Associate Professor at Springfield College, Massachusetts, USA.
UGBS Alumnus, Eric Dziedzom Akukumah, Wins Promising CEO of the Year at 2025 Ghana CEO Awards
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) is proud to congratulate its distinguished alumnus, Mr. Eric Dziedzom Akukumah, CEO of EDA Logistics Limited, on winning the Promising CEO of the Year award at the 4th Ghana CEO Awards held on 25th July 2025, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra. Mr. Akukumah studied MSC International Business at the University of Ghana Business School.

UGBS Holds Handing Over Ceremony to Welcome New Dean, Prof. Ernest Yaw Tweneboah-Koduah
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) held a handing over ceremony to officially transition leadership from the outgoing Dean, Prof. Justice Nyigmah Bawole, to the newly appointed Dean, Prof. Ernest Y. Tweneboah-Koduah. The ceremony took place at the R. S. Amegashie Auditorium on 31st July 2025. Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah is a professor of Social Marketing and Behaviour Change at the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and his appointment is effective 1st August 2025.
UG–Bank of Ghana Chair in Finance and Economics Delivers Guest Lecture on Monetary Sovereignty
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), in collaboration with the Department of Economics and the Bank of Ghana, hosted a public guest lecture by Prof. Yegandi Imhotep Paul Alagidede, the UG–Bank of Ghana Chair in Finance and Economics, on 5th August 2025, at the Cedi Conference Centre.
