Professor Vera Ogeh Fiador (née Soli) has been appointed as the first female Associate Professor of Finance. This promotion comes after 75 years since the establishment of the University of Ghana (UG) and 60 years since the UG Business School (formerly the School of Administration) was established.
On Wednesday, 26th October 2022, a three-member delegation from the University of the Free State (UFS) in South Africa, visited the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to explore and discuss various forms of collaboration and partnerships between the two institutions. The delegation included Prof. Corli Witthuhn, Vice Rector for Research and Internationalisation; Dr. Cornelius Hagenmeier, Head of International Office; and Prof. Loyisio Jita, Dean of Education. Professor Joshua Yindenaba Abor has been appointed as Afreximbank Research Fellow for one year, 2022/23.
The one-year Research Fellowship awarded by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) provides Professor Abor the opportunity to undertake relevant research and contribute to the Bank’s intellectual leadership in fulfillment of its mandate. He will spend the year visiting and working with the Research & International Co-operation (RICO) Department of the Bank.
On Friday, 21st October 2022, the Dean, together with some faculty and staff of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), officially received a car donation (Nissan Kicks 2021 model) from Two (2) alumni, Mr. Prince Amoatia Younge and Mr. Richmond Kofi Selby, and their business partner Mr. John Theophilus Warmann. The ceremony was held at the foyer of the main campus of the University of Ghana Business School.
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) participated in a two-day International Students Recruitment Fair organised by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) from 17th to 18th October 2022 at the Providence Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria. The programme, which was targeted at students seeking admission into various universities in Ghana had in attendance 16 universities from Ghana made up of seven public and nine private universities.
