Ministry of Finance engages University of Ghana Lecturers for the Institutionalisation of a Quarterly Economic Roundtable Event

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) invited a team from the University of Ghana to discuss a Quarterly Economic Roundtable initiative aimed at fostering inclusive policymaking and leveraging academic expertise for national development. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Finance was attended by Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam, Minister for Finance, Ms. Eva Esselba Mends, Chief Director of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, Director of the Economic Strategy & Research Division, and some members of MoF.

Prof. Albert Ahenkan of UGBS receives Fellowship for Research on European Green Deal and Africa's energy transitions at the Academy of International Affairs, NRW, Bonn, Germany

Prof. Albert Ahenkan, HoD in the Department of Public Administration has been awarded a Fellowship by the Academy of International Affairs in Bonn, Germany, to research the intersection of the EU Green Deal and Africa's energy transitions. Drawing on his expertise in sustainable development, green economy, and climate finance, Prof. Ahenkan's research will explore the potential synergies and challenges between the Green Deal and Africa's efforts to transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.

MSc Business Analytics (Access)

The MSc Business Analytics programme will provide graduates with in-depth knowledge and skills in business/data analytics through practical teaching to generate valuable insight and foresight that can assist with business decision making. Students will learn how to identify patterns, visualize, and extract meaningful insights from data to facilitate the business decision-making process. The programme is carefully crafted to ensure that graduates acquire a firm grounding in important areas such as Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, and Text Analytics.

UGBS in Partnership with NovaSphere- Canada holds the MRV for Climate Action Workshop

The University of Ghana Business School in partnership with NovaSphere in Canada held a three-day Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) Climate Action workshop at the UGBS Graduate School. The workshop was a south-south collaboration with the support of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso Chile to enhance countries’ capabilities to plan, scale, implement and monitor local climate actions to achieve national targets in Liberia, Togo, the Gambia, and Ghana. In attendance also were delegates from Canada, Italy, and the USA.

Dean of UGBS Equips Heads of Departments with Laptops to Enhance Operational Efficiency

The Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Prof. Justice N. Bawole has provided laptops to all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) to streamline administrative processes and academic functions. This forms part of efforts to modernise infrastructure and enhance the quality of education and administrative services offered to students and staff. By equipping HoDs with these essential tools, the school aims to empower them to effectively manage departmental affairs, communicate efficiently, and facilitate decision-making processes.

The University of Ghana Business School's International Relations Office recently hosted another episode of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) Week, an initiative aimed at fostering global connections and knowledge exchange among business students. Throughout the week-long event, participants engaged in a series of activities including lectures, company tours, and a trip to Cape Coast.

Dean’s Time with Level 100 Students

The Dean of the University of Ghana Business School, Prof. Justice N. Bawole, hosted an engaging session with level 100 students on 8th March 2024, at the R.S Amegashie Auditorium. The purpose of the meeting was to familiarise the students with campus life, understand their experiences thus far, and inspire them for the academic journey ahead.

University of Ghana Business School donates to Akosombo Dam Spillage Victims of Mepe

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Class of the University of Ghana Business School has donated an amount of One Hundred and twenty-eight thousand, six hundred and seventy cedis, 60 pesewas to the flood victims of Mepe in the Volta Region of Ghana. The donation which was spearheaded by Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah, an Associate Professor at the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and Mr. Deli Dotse Gli, a Doctoral Researcher in the Department included food items, water and soft drinks, stationaries, mosquito nets, Sanitaries, toiletries, detergents, clothes, and footwear.
