UGBS Insurance Students Hold Brunch Meeting with 2014 Alumni Group

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Insurance Students Association (ISA) held a brunch meeting with mentors, dubbed "Brunch Meeting with Mentors (ISA 2014): A Decade On." The event brought together insurance students and industry professionals to share insight into the insurance industry. 

UGBS Alumnus Receives Presidential Appointment as Ghana's Next Ambassador to Turkey (Türkiye)

University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) alumnus, H.E Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh has been appointed as the next Ghana's Ambassador to Turkey (Türkiye) by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and diplomatic prowess. 

University Council Approves Appointments and Promotions of Two UGBS Faculty Members

The University of Ghana (UG) Council has approved the appointment and promotion of two faculty members of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) effective February 1, 2023. The appointments were approved at the University Council's meeting on July 11, 2024.

Prof. Elikplimi Komla Agbloyor has been appointed a full Professor (Finance and Risk Management) in the Department of Finance. At the same time, Dr. Francis Aboagye-Otchere has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting.

UGBS Alumna of the Month: March

Mrs. Abigail Ananie, a distinguished alumna of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has made significant strides in the fields of International Trade, Logistics, and Sales and Marketing. With over a decade of experience in top management, Mrs. Ananie has demonstrated exceptional team management, problem-solving, and leadership skills. 

University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (WHZ), University of Applied Sciences Strengthen Partnership

A delegation from WHZ, University of Applied Sciences in Germany visited the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) on June 10, 2024, to explore potential areas of collaboration. The delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Rene Schubert, Prof. Dr. Tom Karl Schaal, faculty of Healthcare Sciences and Tim Tischendorf, a master's student. The discussions included student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, and capacity building.

UGBS Mentoring and Student Services Unit Empowers Students in a Reflection Seminar

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Mentoring and Student Services Unit held a reflection seminar to empower students, themed "Setting the Foundation for Living a High-Flying Life in and outside Campus." The seminar, held at the R.S Amegashie Auditorium, featured Mr. Oscar Onai, an economist, strategy consultant, and president of the Onai Foundation, as the guest speaker. 

UGBS Donates Vehicles to Support three (3) University of Ghana Departments

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has donated three Toyota Hilux pick-up cars to support mobility for the University of Ghana Security Service, the Archaeology Department, and the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD).

UGBS Professor of Finance Delivers Inaugural Lecture on Rethinking Development Finance for Climate Action

Professor Joshua Y. Abor, a renowned Professor of Finance at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), delivered an inaugural lecture on "Rethinking Development Finance for Inclusive Green Finance: Are There Financial Stability Implications?" at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS) on Thursday, 27 th June 2024.
