Seemingly, it looks like the person I truly am has been carved by a series of numbers: my high school raw scores, GPA and even my IQ. Unfortunately, these numbers – my superficial layer are the criteria judged on in life.
This leaves me with no option, but to get the big numbers and maintain them. I happen to find myself in an extremely deceiving society; where communalism prevails and values like courtesy and morality are highly esteemed.

One glorious day, on my way to school, I bought some waakye with egg and plantain, then topped it up with some gari. This is one of my favorite foods. Enroute to school via bus, I clutched my bag ever so tightly, all in anticipation of the meal I was to feast on upon arrival.
Finally, I got to my destination and just when I was ready to have all my food to myself, the unthinkable happened, my food poured on the floor…….

Undoubtedly, money can easily switch-up people. But using cash as a carrot is not always an ideal solution. Though what offers joy to one person may be radically different from what brings joy to another, there are a few basics with which we must all be content.
