UGBS Alumnus, Dr. Akwasi Amankwaah Ampofo Donate Books to the School Library
A lecturer and alumnus of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Dr. Akwasi Amankwaah Ampofo, has donated a collection of academic books and materials to the UGBS Library to support learning and research among students. The donation was presented on 27th February 2026 to the Dean of UGBS- Prof. Ernest Tweneboah-Koduah, Prof. Mohammed Amidu- Department of Accounting, the School Administrator- Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, the School Librarian- Mr. David Tetteh Odjeawo, and the Assistant Registrar for Academic Affairs- Ms. Celestina Marjorie Quist.
The donated materials comprise books from various fields of study in education, including MBA and PhD-level texts, teaching notes by Dr. Ampofo and Public Procurement Authority (PPA) books. The collection also includes pamphlets aimed at broadening students’ knowledge across diverse subject areas. Presenting the books, Dr. Ampofo, a member of the UGBS Class of 1998, noted the importance of access to quality academic resources in shaping students’ intellectual development. He recalled relying heavily on library books during his time at the Business School and stated that his gesture was a way of giving back to the institution that contributed to his academic and professional growth. He expressed hope that the donated materials would be beneficial to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and encouraged that students make good use of the resources.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the School, Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah expressed appreciation to Dr. Ampofo for his thoughtful contribution. He assured that the books would be catalogued and made accessible to all library users to support academic work and research. The Dean further commended the continued support of alumni, noting that such contributions play a vital role in strengthening the school’s resources and advancing its mission of training world-class business professionals and leaders.
