Bank of America Engages UGBS Students in its Annual Global Internship Programme

A delegation from Bank of America visited the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) on 12th September 2024, to engage top-performing students from UGBS and the School of Engineering for the bank’s annual Global Internship Programme. The session included a “Recruiter Top Tips and CV Workshop,” for business and technology students expected to graduate in 2026.

The event began with a presentation by Mr. James John, Vice President and EMEA Junior Talent Recruiter at Bank of America, who provided an overview of the bank’s application process and shared insights on how students can stand out in their careers. Mr. John spoke about crafting a strong CV that focuses on skills, experience, education, and notable achievements. He also encouraged students to include a professional profile picture, highlight their impact, and showcase their personality by listing hobbies and interests.

During the interactive CV workshop, participants reviewed and critiqued each other's CVs, updating them based on feedback received. Mr. John further stressed the importance of understanding the businesses students apply to and demonstrating academic and volunteer accomplishments.

The second session featured a panel discussion and Q&A, offering students in-depth knowledge about the Bank of America divisions, including management, operations, corporate values, and the various roles available to interns. The panellists provided detailed information on what interns can expect to learn, the opportunities to build their skills, and the value of networking and mentorship within the bank. Participants were encouraged to take full advantage of the internship experience and to maintain strong relationships with colleagues and mentors.
