US Embassy Delegation Pays a Courtesy Visit to UGBS Dean to Strengthen Academic Collaboration
Officials from the United States Embassy in Ghana have paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Prof. Ernest Tweneboah-Koduah, to strengthen institutional collaboration. The meeting took place on 26th February 2026 at the School’s New Conference Room and formed part of ongoing engagements between the two institutions following an earlier visit by a UGBS delegation to the U.S. Embassy in November 2025 to seek support for a student and faculty exchange initiative with the University of Akron College of Business in Ohio.
The Embassy delegation comprised Ms. Donyá Eldridge, Culture and Education Attaché; Mr. Travis Tokuyama, Public Diplomacy Associate; and Ms. Rafiatu Lawal, English Language Coordinator and Education Advisor. They were received by the Dean, Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah, together with members of the school’s senior management. Prof. Ernest Tweneboah-Koduah expressed appreciation to the delegation for the engagement. He also provided a brief history of UGBS, outlining its student population and its extensive local and international partnerships.

During the meeting
The Coordinator of the UGBS International Relations Unit, Prof. Elikplimi Agbloyor, gave an overview of international relations and accreditations sought by the school. Prof. Agbloyor gave further details about the upcoming study tour to University of Akron and informed the team from the Embassy about the impending visit of faculty and students from the Johnson C. Smith University from the USA.
The team from the US Embassy also gave details about what they do including providing details about the American Centre and Education USA programmes. They expressed the Embassy’s openness to future collaboration with UGBS in areas such as entrepreneurship, economic development, and student engagement on global issues.
