UGBS Provides a Personal Financial Management Seminar for the Narcotics Control Commission

On July 26, 2024, the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) organised a seminar titled “The Basics of Personal and Family Management” at the premises of the Narcotics Control Commission. Stellenbosch University visits UGBS to Explore Opportunities for Potential Collaboration

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) recently hosted representatives from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, to discuss potential collaborations in student exchange programmes and other academic initiatives. The delegation from Stellenbosch University was made up of Prof. Ada Jansen, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, and Ms. Norma Derby from the International Centre for Collaboration in Africa.

UGBS Holds Leadership Training for Staff Members

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) recently conducted a leadership training session for its staff members. The programme was organised by the UGBS School Administrator, Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, with other departments from the University participating. Dr. Thomas Buabeng of the department of Public Administration led the training, focusing on the various types of subordinates and strategies for dealing with them to promote organisational development. 

UGBS Celebrates Retiring Members in a Grand Ceremony

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) celebrated its retiring staff and faculty members on Wednesday, 31st July, 2024 in a grand ceremony at the UGBS Graduate Campus. The school honoured Prof. Daniel Frimpong Ofori- Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Aaron Asibi Abuosi- Department of Health Services Management, Mr. Henry Hayford Ennisson- Chief Accounting Assistant, Mr. Samuel Anaefi- Administrative Assistant and Mr. Christopher Sonu- Chief Administrative Assistant. 

UG Vice-Chancellor Appoints New UGBS Heads of Department

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has appointed new Heads of Departments (HoDs) for the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). The appointments are for a three-year tenure. 

Prof. Vera Ogeh Fiador has been appointed as Head of the Department of Finance. She is an Associate Professor of Finance at UGBS, and her leadership is expected to drive the department towards continued excellence. 

New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business visits the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS)

A team from Justworks Global Leadership Fellows at New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business visited the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) as part of its global immersion project. The team included Mr. Isaac Oates, Founder & Executive Chair of Justworks, Prof. Rachel S. Kowal, Faculty Trip Leader from NYU Stern, Mr. Robert Tornu, Trip Coordinator, and some career managers from NYU Stern. They were welcomed by Prof. Justice Bawole, Dean of UGBS. 

KPMG Ghana Assistant Manager Lectures UGBS Executive MBA Students on Strategic Management

On Monday, June 5th, 2024, Mr. Selikem Dzakpasu, Assistant Manager at KPMG Ghana, delivered a lecture on Strategic Management to second-year Executive MBA students in Human Resource Management and Project Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). The lecture was organised by the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM).
