University of Ghana Business School signs up for the “Giving Voice to Values” (GVV) Africa Programme
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has recently partnered with The Education Collaborative and Ashesi University to pilot the "Giving Voice to Values" (GVV) Africa Programme to enhance its curriculum and empower future leaders. The GVV Africa Project is an initiative under the Education Collaborative’s ethics and leadership focus area which shares tools and tactics on how leaders and industry professionals can navigate the dynamics of values conflicts in the workplace.
Prof. Justice Bawole, Dean of UGBS, highlighted the importance of the GVV Africa Programme in advancing ethical training within the business school. He expressed confidence in the programme's potential to not only benefit UGBS but also contribute to Ghana's broader ethical environment.
Ms. Mercy Kusiwaa Frimpong, Assistant Director of Communications at the Education Collaborative, introduced participants to the GVV Africa Programme. The session identified the unique strengths of UGBS graduates and explored opportunities for further improvement, particularly in enhancing employability and problem-solving skills while upholding ethical standards.
Ms. Nina Pels, Senior Assistant Director of Student Life and Engagement at Ashesi University, shared insights into ethics education and culture at Ashesi University. She also discussed the university's efforts to promote ethics awareness and outlined strategies to address challenges in ethics education. She further spoke about Ashesi University's commitment to ethics, evident through its mission statement, branding efforts, and emphasis on the Honour Code.
