University Council Approves Promotions of Five UGBS Faculty Members to Full Professors

The University Council, at its meeting held on 3rd July 2025, approved the promotion of five faculty members of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to the rank of full Professor. The promotions are in recognition of their scholarly contributions, teaching excellence, and dedicated service to the University. The newly promoted Professors are Prof. Vera Ogeh Lassey Fiador, Department of Finance, Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor, Department of Health Services Management, Prof. Albert Kobby Mensah, Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Gordon Abekah-Nkrumah, Department of Health Services Management and Prof. Obi Berko Obeng Damoah, Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management.

Prof. Vera Ogeh Lassey Fiador is an expert in corporate finance, financial markets, and development finance. She has published extensively on financial systems in developing countries. Prof. Fiador has contributed to policy advisory work both locally and internationally. She is currently the Head of the Department of Finance at UGBS. 

Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor is recognised for her research in health policy, management, and administration. She has held several other administrative roles. Prof. Abor’s work examines maternal health, healthcare financing, and health service delivery, and she has published in top-tier academic journals.

Prof. Albert Kobby Mensah specialises in political marketing, branding, and digital communications. He is widely recognised as a thought leader in marketing communications in Ghana and beyond. Prof. Mensah is also actively engaged in public discourse through media engagements and publications. He currently serves as the coordinator for the UGBS Marketing and Communications Unit. 

Prof. Gordon Abekah-Nkrumah is a seasoned academic with expertise in health policy and systems research, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. He has consulted for several international organisations, and his work focuses on health sector reforms, public policy, and governance. Prof. Abekah-Nkrumah has published extensively and serves as Head of the Department of Health Services Management. 

Prof. Obi Berko Obeng Damoah specialises in strategic management, public policy, and entrepreneurship. His research interests span public sector strategy, institutional reforms, and SMEs. Prof. Damoah serves as Head of Department and continues to contribute to thought leadership in business strategy.
