Acheampong Owusu

Dr. Acheampong Owusu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He holds a PhD in Information Systems with a focus on Business Intelligence (BI) Systems from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia. He also has an MSc .NET Distributed Systems Development from Hull University, Hull, UK and a BSc Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.

Prior joining the OMIS Department, he worked as the Head of the ICT Unit (Network Systems Administrator) of the UGBS. During his tenure, over a decade, he designed and implemented the UGBS computer networks and systems. He also contributed immensely to the development and growth of University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS) in terms of extending the network infrastructure as well as the support services and systems maintenance. He was also a Part-time Lecturer at Radford University College, East Legon, Accra, Ghana from 2010 to 2012. 

Dr. Owusu is a multidisciplinary researcher with research interests in diffusion of Information Technologies and their impact on organizations, Digital Platforms, Business Intelligence Systems and Analytics, E-Business, ICT4D, and Information Systems in general. He has participated in various international conferences including the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), International Congress on Information and Communication Technology (ICICT), among others. He has also published in various peer-reviewed journals and Book chapters including Education and Information Technologies, Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, Electronic Government, The African Journal of Information Systems, South African Journal of Information Management (SAJIM), International Journal of Electronic Government Research, Encyclopedia of Criminal Activities and the Deep Web, among others. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and serves as an Associate Editor for International Journal of Technology Diffusion (IJTD) as well as an Editorial Review Board member for International Journal of E-Entrepreneurship and Innovation (IJEEI) and International Journal of ICT Research in Africa and the Middle East (IJICTRAME). He also serves as a reviewer for a number of journals and conferences. 

Through the University of Ghana Business School Executive Development  (UGBS-ED), Dr. Owusu has provided consultancy for TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC, Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (IRECOP) Limited, NHIA and have also provided general consultancy services to different individuals who come from various organizations through the Centre for Management, Research & Professional Development (CMRPD).
