UGBS Faculty, Prof. Mahmoud Abdulai Mahmoud Participates in Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Programme in Poland

Prof. Mahmoud Abdulai Mahmoud, Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), represented the University of Ghana at the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Mobility Programme hosted by the University of Enterprise and Administration in Lublin, Poland, from 15th to 19th June 2026. The programme was also attended by the Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Elizier Ameyaw-Buronyah. The international mobility programme, coordinated through the University of Ghana's International Programmes Office, brought together participants to strengthen academic collaboration, promote staff mobility, and explore opportunities for institutional partnerships.

During the visit, the University of Ghana delegation had series of engagements with the management, administrators and faculty members of the University of Enterprise and Administration. They met with the Rector- Prof. Malgorzata Michalska- Nakonieczna and Vice Rector, Dr. Ewelina Widelska who welcomed the delegation on behalf of the institution. Discussions focused on strengthening relations between the two universities, with particular attention given to opportunities for faculty and student exchange programmes, academic collaboration, and broader institutional partnerships. The meetings also provided a platform to share experiences on university governance, academic administration and student life, while exploring areas of mutual interest that could foster long-term cooperation. The delegation further engaged with faculty members, including Dr. Bartosz Sobtka and Mr. Michal Furmanek, during a meeting held in Lublin's town centre. The discussions centred on ongoing scholarly work, research collaborations and future joint projects.

One of the highlights of the visit was the recognition of Prof. Mahmoud's scholarly contributions. Faculty members at the host institution acknowledged his published research and discussed some of his academic works that had attracted attention within European academic circles. The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on research interests, clarify issues relating to published studies, and identify areas for future collaborative research and publications. The discussions also extended beyond academia to include governance, culture and economic development. Prof. Mahmoud and Dr. Ameyaw-Buronyah shared insights into the governance structure of the University of Ghana and highlighted Ghana's democratic traditions, chieftaincy institution, cultural diversity and festivals. The conversations generated keen interest among the host faculty, who expressed a desire to visit Ghana to deepen academic and cultural exchanges.

Reflecting on the visit, Prof. Mahmoud described the Erasmus+ KA171 mobility programme as a productive platform for strengthening international partnerships and creating opportunities for future collaboration. He noted that the engagements laid the foundation for concrete outcomes, including faculty and student exchange initiatives, joint research projects and collaborative publications that would benefit both institutions and contribute to international academic cooperation. Prof. Mahmoud expressed appreciation to the University of Ghana's International Programmes Office for facilitating the visit, particularly the Dean, Prof. Jemima Anderson, and Ms. Rufinna, for their administrative support. He also thanked the leadership and staff of the University of Enterprise and Administration, including the Rector, the Vice Rector, Ms. Paulina Obszanska and Ms. Malgorzata Baranowska, as well as Dr. Bartosz Sobtka and Mr. Michal Furmanek, for their warm hospitality and support throughout the programme
