UGBS-MBS Embarks on a Study Tour in Australia

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) recently embarked on an academic journey to Australia as part of its ongoing collaboration with Melbourne Business School (MBS). The seventeen-day study tour, held from 16th September to 4th October 2025, brought together faculty, students, and administrators for an immersive learning and cultural exchange. The UGBS delegation was led by Prof. Elikplimi Komla Agbloyor, Coordinator, International Relations and assisted by Ms. Betty Brew from the International Relations Office. The programme was designed to deepen international academic partnerships and expose participants to global best practices under the theme “Australian Innovation and Entrepreneurship.”

The academic component of the Global Immersion Programme at Melbourne Business School (MBS) took place from 22nd to 26th September 2025. It was facilitated by Mr. Bryon McCaughey from the Melbourne Entrepreneurial Centre and Prof. Samuelson Appau, Associate Professor of Marketing at MBS. This immersive academic experience served as a core highlight of the tour, offering students and alumni a unique blend of theory, practice, and personal development.

Beyond the classroom, participants experienced the vibrant culture of Melbourne through several educational and recreational activities. These included a campus tour of the Melbourne Business School and the University of Melbourne, led by Prof. Appau, and offered insights into the academic environment and facilities. The group also embarked on a city tour, exploring Melbourne’s dynamic cityscape, iconic landmarks, and cultural attractions.

Other key activities included visits to the Queen Victoria Market, a scenic Yarra River Cruise, and a relaxing experience at St. Kilda Beach. Participants attended a service at Hillsong Church (Melbourne Campus) and shared a delightful dinner at Akwaaba Restaurant and Bar, a Ghanaian-owned establishment.
