The TeProD project, which commenced in January 2025 and is set to run until December 2027, is a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing education in Sub-Saharan Africa. The project integrates circular economy principles, green transition strategies, digitalization, pedagogy, and AI-driven tools into higher education, to equip teachers and students with industry-relevant skills for today’s evolving demands.

To achieve these objectives, the project has been structured into six key work packages (WPs), with the University of Ghana leading two pivotal areas. As the leader of WP2: Planning and Curricula Design, UG is responsible for developing strategic training materials, identifying gaps in higher education institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa, and organizing capacity-building workshops on Twin transitions, AI tools, circular economy, and curriculum development. Additionally, UG is at the forefront of WP6: Dissemination and Exploitation of Project Results, to widely communicate and implement the project’s findings across the higher education sector.

By strengthening teachers' competencies in twin transition technologies, updating curricula and teaching methods, and fostering collaboration between academia and industry, the project aims to position Ghana and Namibia as leaders in sustainable and digital education. UGBS remains committed to fostering impactful academic collaborations that drive educational innovation in the region.

Co-funded by the European Union (EU), the TeProD project represents a major step towards enhancing the professional capacity of educators and students, paving the way for a more sustainable and technology-driven educational system in Sub-Saharan Africa. The successful kick-off meeting marks the beginning of a collaborative journey towards impactful and lasting educational transformation.
