UGBS Celebrates Retiring Members in a Grand Ceremony

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) celebrated its retiring staff and faculty members on Wednesday, 31st July, 2024 in a grand ceremony at the UGBS Graduate Campus. The school honoured Prof. Daniel Frimpong Ofori- Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Aaron Asibi Abuosi- Department of Health Services Management, Mr. Henry Hayford Ennisson- Chief Accounting Assistant, Mr. Samuel Anaefi- Administrative Assistant and Mr. Christopher Sonu- Chief Administrative Assistant. 

Prof. Justice Bawole, Dean of UGBS, delivered the purpose of the gathering, emphasising the importance of celebrating those who have contributed significantly to the institution. "A country or a society that does not celebrate its heroes is not worth dying for," he stated, commending the retirees for their unwavering support towards the development and management of the school. He noted that it is the tradition of UGBS to honour retired staff and faculty. 

Prof. Abuosi served UGBS for 14 years, Prof. Ofori served for 21 years including 4 years as Provost of the College of Humanities, Mr. Sonu served for 31 years, Mr. Ennisson for 38 years, and Mr. Anaefi for 40 years. The retirees received a standing ovation for their illustrious careers and Dean Bawole encouraging others to draw inspiration from their dedication and service. 

Serving as the MC, Prof. Kobby Mensah highlighted the harmony within the business school, attributing it to Prof. Bawole's leadership. "We are grateful for your leadership and management," he said, applauding the Dean.

The event featured the presentation of awards and gifts to the retirees and their spouses by the School Administrator, Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee and Dean, Prof. Bawole. The celebration continued with refreshments, various delicacies, and musical entertainment.
