
UGBS Alumnus, Mr. Kojo Choi, Appointed Ghana’s Ambassador-Designate to South Korea
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) is proud to congratulate its distinguished alumnus, Mr. Kojo Choi, on his appointment as Ghana’s Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of South Korea. His nomination was announced in a letter dated 21st July 2025, and signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President. Mr. Choi studied BSc Administration with a specialisation in Accounting at the University of Ghana Business School, formerly known as the School of Administration, and graduated in 2002. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of PaySwitch Company Limited, a leading Ghanaian third-party payment processing firm.
With over two decades of experience building businesses across Ghana and the West African sub-region, Mr. Choi has made significant contributions to entrepreneurship, innovation, and financial technology. His business interests span telecommunications, fintech, marketing communications, and consultancy. He has also served as a consultant for the Korean Embassy and various multinational organisations, offering valuable insights into Africa’s business environment. Under his leadership, PaySwitch Company Limited has established itself as the only third-party processing company in Ghana capable of processing international card schemes such as Visa, MasterCard, and UnionPay. The company is also integrated with all major mobile money operators in Ghana and operates with world-class technology platforms.
According to the presidency, this appointment forms part of efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation, enhance trade relations, and promote cultural exchanges between Ghana and South Korea. Mr. Choi is expected to assume his role upon the completion of parliamentary approval and other diplomatic formalities. The University of Ghana Business School community celebrates this milestone and expresses its utmost pride in Mr. Kojo Choi’s achievement. His appointment is a testament to the school’s commitment to producing global business leaders who contribute meaningfully to national development and international diplomacy.
