UGBS Alumni Pays Courtesy Visit to NITA Acting Director General, Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor
A delegation from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Alumni Association paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor, Acting Director General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), on 30 April 2025. The purpose was to congratulate him on his appointment formally and extend the support of the alumni community. The visit, which took place at NITA’s head office, was led by Ms. Afia Benewaa Domfeh, Alumni Relations Officer at UGBS. In a brief introduction, she expressed the purpose of the visit: “We heard of your appointment and we, the alumni association, came to congratulate you.
Dr. Kevor, an alumnus of UGBS, warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He shared insights into his current role and the responsibilities that come with it. “My actual mandate is to be the regulator for the ICT space and act as an enabler for all government services through ICT. That regulatory function has been a bit down, so one of my key tasks is to enable the regulatory function,” he explained.
Dr. Kevor also acknowledged the significant role UGBS has played in shaping his professional journey. “I am grateful that you have recognised that I am one of you, a product of UGBS. I will say that the experience, knowledge, and competencies I have gathered through the University of Ghana Business School have shaped me,” he said.
Mr. David Okyere Nyarko, President of the UGBS Alumni Association, reiterated the Association’s commitment to fostering strong relationships among its members and leveraging technology to achieve a greater impact. “We are also happy to have you in this big family. We have come to congratulate you and introduce ourselves to you. We are basically into mobilisation of members and deliberately bringing everybody together to collaborate with you so we can do better with technology,” he stated. He also highlighted that several alumni year groups are actively engaging in activities, with more events planned for the near future.

Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, UGBS School Administrator, emphasised the School’s pride in its alumni and the importance of their achievements. “As a school and an alumni group, we are always happy and proud of ourselves when members take up various positions to encourage the young ones. It’s a very good thing to experience today. This enhances your image, the School, and the Alumni Association,” he noted. Mr. Sarkodee also used the opportunity to enquire about possible internship opportunities for current UGBS students to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in their respective fields of study. The visit also served as a platform to discuss the formal registration process for UGBS alumni, how to gather and update alumni contact details, and effective ways to trace and engage all alumni.
