Kwasi Dartey-Baah

Professor Kwasi Dartey-Baah is an academic figure specialising in Leadership & Organisational Development. Presently, he serves as the Director of Institutional Advancement at the University of Ghana. His career includes tenure as the former Head of the Department of Organisation & Human Resource Management at the University of Ghana Business School. With a formidable academic background, Professor Dartey-Baah holds dual Doctor of Philosophy Degrees (PhDs). His foremost PhD in Leadership and Human Resource Development was conferred by Trinity College, USA, and Canterbury University, United Kingdom. Additionally, he earned a second PhD in Business Management and Administration, specialising in Project Management Leadership, from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Complementing his academic achievements, he also possesses a Civil Engineering Degree from the prestigious Imperial College of Science and Technology, London. Professor Dartey-Baah is widely recognised as an astute academic, boasting extensive research and consultancy experience in project management and leadership development. His professional journey includes collaborations with renowned consulting firms such as JMP Consulting and Colin Buchanan & Partners, where he held a partnership position, all based in the United Kingdom. He lends his expertise to numerous high-profile organisations, aiding them in executing and maintaining strategic focus. Professor Dartey-Baah has led the management and implementation of the seventh Disbursement Link Indicator of the World Bank African Centres of Excellence Institutional Impact Project at the University of Ghana. Beyond academia, he serves as an external examiner for both national and international tertiary institutions and contributes as a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals. His contributions extend to national service, evident through his chairmanship of the National Strategic Planning Committee of the Ghana Institution of Engineering from 2014 to 2015, and his roles as an assessor for the then National Accreditation Board (now Ghana Tertiary Education Commission) and a once member of the Grievance Review Committee of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission of Ghana. Within the University of Ghana, he holds various leadership positions, including, Chair of the UGBS Infrastructure Committee, Chair of the Vice-Chancellor’s Committee for Strategic Infrastructure Development and membership in several crucial committees and boards. Professor Dartey-Baah's intellectual footprint is marked by over seventy (70) academic publications and the development of the Transfor-sactional Leadership Theory, a seminal contribution recognised globally by both academics and practitioners. He consistently brings novelty and thought leadership into all his endeavours, within academia and beyond.
