UGBS Alumni, Dr. Joyce Emefa Addo-Klah Honored at Africa’s 100 Legendary Awards in Rwanda
A University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) alumnus, Dr. Joyce Emefa Addo-Klah, a Ghanaian Doctor and Health Advocate has been Honored at Africa’s 100 Legendary Awards in Rwanda. The ceremony, held in Kigali, celebrates exceptional individuals across the continent who are driving impactful changes in their respective fields. Dr. Addo-Klah is a graduate of UGBS with Master of Science, Clinical Leadership and Management.
Dr. Addo-Klah was recognised for her outstanding contributions to healthcare delivery and public health advocacy. Known for her passionate focus on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and lifestyle illnesses, she has dedicated much of her career to raising public awareness and promoting preventative health measures. Beyond clinical practice, she has become a vocal advocate for global health investments, actively championing Ghana as a prime destination for international healthcare partnerships.
This pan-African recognition comes two years after Dr. Addo-Klah made international headlines for her heroic, life-saving actions during a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Accra. When a fellow passenger collapsed midair, she stepped forward under immense pressure to administer emergency medical care, successfully stabilising the passenger until the flight landed.
The high-profile event brought together trailblazers from across the continent, who are actively spearheading transformative, cross-border development within their respective professional sectors, with honorees hailing from Egypt, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Uganda, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
