KPMG Ghana Visits UGBS to Explore Collaboration on International Accounting Day
On Thursday, 17th October 2024, KPMG Ghana paid a courtesy visit to the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to discuss potential collaborations. The meeting was held at the UGBS Dean’s Office and centred around involving UGBS students in the upcoming International Accounting Day celebration.
The Dean of UGBS, Prof. Justice Bawole, warmly received the KPMG delegation speaking about the longstanding partnership between UGBS and KPMG. He conveyed UGBS' enthusiasm for collaborating on the International Accounting Day hoping it would be an ongoing initiative and not a one-time event. Prof. Bawole also expressed his desire for KPMG to recruit more UBGS students for National Service.
Mr. Emmanuel Kodi Borkor, Advisory Associate, KPMG Ghana, invited the Department of Accounting at the UGBS to participate in this year's International Accounting Day celebration set to take place on 7th November 2024. Mr. Borkor expressed KPMG’s interest in mentoring UGBS Level 400 accounting students and guiding them on their career paths.
Prof. William Coffie, Head of the Department of Accounting, noted that such engagements are relevant as he scores students for participation ensuring accounting students are equipped with employable skills. Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, UGBS School Administrator affirmed UGBS’ commitment to partnering with KPMG to make the celebration a success.
