UGBS Professor, Patience Abor, Donates Mono Desks to Presby JHS, Yapei

Prof. Patience Aseweh Abor, an Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has donated 50 mono desks to her alma mater, Presby Junior High School in Yapei, Savannah Region. The donation was made in celebration of her birthday to improve the school’s learning environment and inspire students to excel academically. 

Prof. Abor, a member of the Class of 1991, was commended by the school’s headmistress, Madam Abonjuah Zinatu Wandaga for her generous contribution. The assembly member of the Yapei Electoral Area, Mr. Iddi Kamil also praised Prof. Abor’s academic achievements, noting that her achievements serve as an inspiration to current students. He spoke about her exceptional performance in 1991, where she graduated with a distinction (Aggregate 7). Present also for the donation were some executives of the Yapei Youth Association and members of the community who commended the impact of the gesture on the community. 

Prof. Abor is a philanthropist, whose efforts through the ExGlo Foundation continue to make positive impacts in various communities. She holds a BSc in Nursing and an MPhil in Health Services Management from the University of Ghana. She also holds an MTech in Environmental Health from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town, South Africa, and a PhD in Management from the University of Southampton, UK. 

She is also a researcher with the African Economic Research Consortium. Her research interests include healthcare governance, health services management, health policy, and socio-economic effects on health outcomes. Her papers have appeared in reputable international journals such as the Journal of International Migration and Integration, International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance, Leadership in Health Services Journal, Management Research Review, Journal of Health Organization and Management, International Journal of Social Economics, International Journal of Business Governance and Ethics, and Journal of Medical Marketing.
