Mahmoud Abdulai Mahmoud

Prof. Mahmoud Abdulai Mahmoud holds a faculty position in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, University of Ghana Business School, University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing.  He obtained his PhD, Master of Philosophy and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degrees from the University of Ghana Business School, University of Ghana. Prior to his appointment as a faculty of the Department he served as a Teaching and Graduate Assistants to the Department. He was involved in development works where he was assisting rural farmers on best practices in production and marketing of their produce across the three northern regions of Ghana. His doctoral work focuses on strategic marketing with specific concentration on market orientation, corporate social responsibility and firm performance. He developed a framework for combining economic and social strategies for superior organizational performance. He lectures both graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing. Courses he lectures include marketing management, sales management, international marketing, sustainability marketing, corporate social responsibility and ethics and other related marketing courses. He supervises several students on their project works and this includes both graduate and undergraduates. Prof. Mahmoud’s research interest includes strategic marketing, sustainability marketing, market orientation, corporate social responsibility. He has published in a number international peer review journals. His works have appeared in European Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Journal of Relationship Marketing, Services Industry Journal and so on. He is an associate research fellow at Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies. He has participated in several workshops both academic and non-academic. He has presented papers in several local and international conferences in different parts of the world. He is a member of International Academy of African Business Development (IAABD). Prof. Mahmoud has consulted for a number of private and public institutions on topics such as personal selling and sales management, marketing management, customer services, services marketing, and marketing and sales skills. Through EDS-UGBS and British collaborations, he has facilitated numerous training sessions on sales and negotiation skills. Other responsibilities of Prof. Mahmoud include; he serves in a number of committees within and outside the school. He currently serves in the Library and Ghana Business Development Review Committees, both at the University of Ghana Business School.  Also, he is a member of the College of Humanities Academic Board, University of Ghana. He is a member of the Departmental Graduate Studies Committee. He is also the Departmental Examination Officer. He has served as panel member for National Accreditation Board to several number of institutions across Ghana
