University of Ghana TeProD Team Attends the 4th TeProD Project Meeting in Slovakia
The TeProD Project, committed to fostering stronger collaboration among partner institutions, held its fourth Project Meeting at the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) in Slovakia from 1st to 5th June 2026. TUKE hosted partner institutions including the University of Ghana (UG), University of Education, Winneba (UEW), International University of Management (IUM), and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (HHUAS). Over five days, participants engaged in a comprehensive programme of professional and social activities designed to advance the project's objectives.
The meeting opened with a warm welcome from TUKE, followed by a reflection on the third Project Meeting hosted by UEW. The team discussed Planning and Curricula Development (Work Package 2) and toured TECHNICOM and the Ulysseus Deep Dive Initiative to observe TUKE's latest innovations. The day concluded with a guided tour of historic Košice and a welcome dinner at Pivovar Hostinec. On the second day, discussions focused on Training and Piloting (Work Package 4) and Strategic Partnership Development (Work Package 5) activities. The team also shared preparations underway for the upcoming innovation challenge and participated in a two-hour workshop on micro-credentials.
The third day began with a meeting with TUKE's management, including the Vice-Rector and International Relations Officer, who formally welcomed the team and expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations. Subsequent discussions covered WP6 (Dissemination and Exploitation) led by UG and WP1 (Project Coordination and Quality Management) led by HHUAS. The day concluded with a visit to the scenic Tokaj wine region. On the fourth day, the team reviewed progress reports and visited the TECHNICOM Innovation Zone to explore regional ICT and creative industry initiatives. A highlight was an interactive tour of PERUN, the supercomputer at TUKE's Prototyping and Innovation Centre.
To conclude the meeting, the team explored the Pieniny Mountains along the Poland–Slovakia border, toured the Nestville Whisky Distillery, and visited Spiš Castle, one of Central Europe's largest castle complexes. With renewed enthusiasm and strengthened collaborative spirit, partners remain committed to advancing teacher and student professional development in the twin transition.
