Zechariah Langnel

Zechariah Langnel is a Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). Prior to joining UGBS, he served as a Lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, where he contributed to teaching and research in public administration and governance. He holds a Bachelor’s and an MPhil degree from the University of Ghana, as well as a Ph.D. in Development Administration from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Thailand. Dr. Langnel has consulted for several national and international organizations, including the Parliament of Ghana, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, the Luxembourg Social Trust Project, GIZ, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities–National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), and the Government of Ghana through the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCD). His research interests encompass policy management, decentralization and local governance, public sector ethics and integrity, sustainability, urban resilience, urban informality, public sector management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and the politics of public service delivery. Dr. Langnel has established himself as a distinguished scholar with a strong record of high-quality research published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Sustainable Cities and Society, Journal of African Business, International Journal of Public Administration, Public Organization Review, Development in Practice, Legislative Studies, Resources Policy, African Development Review, Development Southern Africa, and World Affairs. He also serves as a reviewer for several prestigious journals such as Sustainable Cities and Society, Journal of African Business, Resources Policy, Journal of Health Economics, Policy and Law, African Development Review, and International Journal of Development Issues. To date, Dr. Langnel has authored over 25 academic papers and has garnered over 500 citations on Google Scholar.
