From lecture halls to leadership roles, balancing it all is no easy feat—but some students make it look effortless. Great minds, smart endeavours, and remarkable feats define such individuals.

Louis Agya Kwame Sottie
This is the story of the 2026 BSc. Administration Excelling Student.
Right after completing his secondary education at Okuapeman Senior High School, Louis began demonstrating a strong balance of academic excellence and leadership after being admitted into the University of Ghana Business School. From Level 100, he served as a course representative for Introduction to French and Theatre Arts.
By Level 200, he had become known as the “all-weather” student; you would find him actively participating in class, either answering or asking questions. Outside the classroom, he is approachable and sociable. Despite his busy schedule, he rarely misses any programme within the Business School.
In Level 300, he served as the course representative for Research Methods. He also became a beneficiary of the Axis Pension Scholarship, further solidifying his commitment to growth and excellence. In the second semester of Level 300, he was appointed Vice President of the Student National Advisory Board of the Young Investors Network.
At the same time, he serves as the Vice President of the Accounting Students Association, where he plays a key role in supporting the President and contributing to the overall growth and holistic development of the student body. Additionally, he is currently the Second Deputy Finance Committee Head of Jubilee Hall.
Even while balancing leadership with academics, Louis has continued to excel, earning the 2026 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for the BSc. Administration Excelling Student; a testament to his dedication and ability to achieve remarkable feats despite his many responsibilities.
Of course, our BSc. Administration Excelling Student also makes time for leisure. He enjoys going to the gym, as well as engaging in photography, videography, and swimming during his free time. He is also passionate about public speaking.
He draws inspiration from his favourite quote by Jack Ma, Co-Founder of Alibaba: "We never had a rich father nor a powerful uncle; all we had was a dream."
To our fellow students, this is a reminder that it is possible to balance leadership and academics, and still excel in both.
Stay inspired.
