UGBS Alumnus, Felix K. Boakye Afrifa, Esq, Donate Books to the School

Mr. Felix K. Boakye Afrifa, Esq., an alumnus of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), has donated copies of his authored books to the school on 3rd September 2025. The donation was made during a courtesy call on the Dean of UGBS, Prof. Ernest Y. Tweneboah-Koduah. Mr. Afrifa explained that during his time as a student in 2009, access to textbooks on insurance was limited. As an author, he deemed it necessary to support the school by providing books that would benefit both current and future students.

He presented copies of his published works, titled “Motor Insurance, Law and Practice”, “The Essentials of Risk and Insurance”, and “Fundamental Principles of Insurance Law”. Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Afrifa expressed gratitude to the school, noting that UGBS played a vital role in shaping his career. He recounted how he was recruited into Star Assurance Company Ltd through UGBS and has since built his professional life there.

Upon receiving the books, Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah praised Mr. Afrifa for his thoughtful gesture and assured him that the books would be made readily accessible at the UGBS library for students. He further mentioned that, given Mr. Afrifa’s deep understanding of the school's offerings, he is optimistic that the books will equip students with the knowledge and practical insights they need.

Also present at the meeting was Prof. Albert Ahenkan, Head of the Department of Public Administration, who lauded the initiative and emphasised that the donation will better equip students in their academic pursuits. He extended his appreciation to Mr. Afrifa, describing his contribution as thoughtful and impactful. Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, School Administrator, and Ms. Saratu Salifu, Assistant Registrar, were also in attendance.
