University of Ghana Business School signs up for the “Giving Voice to Values” (GVV) Africa Programme
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has recently partnered with The Education Collaborative and Ashesi University to pilot the "Giving Voice to Values" (GVV) Africa Programme to enhance its curriculum and empower future leaders. The GVV Africa Project is an initiative under the Education Collaborative’s ethics and leadership focus area which shares tools and tactics on how leaders and industry professionals can navigate the dynamics of values conflicts in the workplace.
UGBS engages the National Council for Curriculum & Assessment (NaCCA) to Integrate Financial Literacy into School Curricula
A delegation from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), led by Dr. Benjamin Amoah from the Finance Department and the coordinator of the FA Association (UG) Chapter, convened with the National Council for Curriculum & Assessment (NaCCA) on April 10th, 2024. Acheampong Owusu
Dr. Acheampong Owusu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He holds a PhD in Information Systems with a focus on Business Intelligence (BI) Systems from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia. He also has an MSc .NET Distributed Systems Development from Hull University, Hull, UK and a BSc Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana.

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the University of Manchester have solidified their collaboration through a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 26th March 2024 at the University of Ghana’s New Council Chamber. British Council Delegation Visits the UGBS Innovation and Incubation Hub
A delegation from the British Council and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) recently visited the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) to strengthen collaboration and support initiatives aimed at enhancing youth employability and entrepreneurship. Led by Prof. Justice N. Bawole, Dean of UGBS, the welcoming committee comprised heads of various departments and lecturers who acknowledged the significance of the partnership with the British Council in advancing educational and developmental goals.
UGBS and CEGA host Development Policy Evaluation and African Political Economy Conference.
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at the University of California, Berkeley, hosted a conference on Development Policy Evaluation and African Political Economy on 20th March 2024. The conference was under the theme, “Methods Session on Impact Evaluation for Graduate Students”. Prof. Chris Udry, a Professor of Development Economics at the University of Northwestern, USA, was the keynote speaker and UGBS Senior Lecturer from the Department of Finance, Dr. Edward Asiedu, served as the facilitator.
Ministry of Finance engages University of Ghana Lecturers for the Institutionalisation of a Quarterly Economic Roundtable Event
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) invited a team from the University of Ghana to discuss a Quarterly Economic Roundtable initiative aimed at fostering inclusive policymaking and leveraging academic expertise for national development. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Finance was attended by Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam, Minister for Finance, Ms. Eva Esselba Mends, Chief Director of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, Director of the Economic Strategy & Research Division, and some members of MoF.
Prof. Albert Ahenkan of UGBS receives Fellowship for Research on European Green Deal and Africa's energy transitions at the Academy of International Affairs, NRW, Bonn, Germany
Prof. Albert Ahenkan, HoD in the Department of Public Administration has been awarded a Fellowship by the Academy of International Affairs in Bonn, Germany, to research the intersection of the EU Green Deal and Africa's energy transitions. Drawing on his expertise in sustainable development, green economy, and climate finance, Prof. Ahenkan's research will explore the potential synergies and challenges between the Green Deal and Africa's efforts to transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.
MSc Business Analytics (Access)
The MSc Business Analytics programme will provide graduates with in-depth knowledge and skills in business/data analytics through practical teaching to generate valuable insight and foresight that can assist with business decision making. Students will learn how to identify patterns, visualize, and extract meaningful insights from data to facilitate the business decision-making process. The programme is carefully crafted to ensure that graduates acquire a firm grounding in important areas such as Machine Learning, Business Intelligence, and Text Analytics.
