Sheena Lovia Boateng

Dr. Sheena Lovia Boateng is a  Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, University of Ghana Business School. She holds doctoral and undergraduate degrees in Marketing from the University of Ghana. She is the first female to complete a PhD in Marketing from the University of Ghana and is also the founder of the Women in Tertiary Education (WITE) Network, which seeks to provide support for women pursuing tertiary education in their academic research, family life and career balance. She is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Emerald Emerging Markets Case Study Journal, Emerald Publishing Limited, UK and reviews for other international journals.
 
Dr. Sheena Boateng’s research interests include online relationship marketing, fashion marketing, digital business strategy, electronic learning adoption, entrepreneurship, online branding and advertising, and social media marketing. She has expertise in enabling companies to develop products and services to respond to the dynamics of consumer behavior. She has published six journal publications, two books, four book chapters, five published conference papers, one working paper and one industry report.  Her academic work has been published in the International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Financial Services Marketing, Smart Learning Environments and the Journal of Educational Technology Systems. Dr. Sheena’s paper on signaling theory published in the International Journal of Bank Marketing (2019) is listed among the most popular papers in the journal for the first quarter of 2019 – Full text downloaded 1156 times since 2019 (last checked 9/5/2019).
 
Dr. Sheena has collaborated with other faculty to obtain not less than US $200,000 in research and project funds from organisations including the World Bank and African Development Bank. She is the Music Director for Believe Over Hope and has four albums and 1 Single. Her music is available on iTunes and Spotify.
