University of Ghana Business School Engages Prospective Students at the Maiden UG Open Day Event

The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) participated in an "Open Day" event organised by the University of Ghana Academic Affairs Directorate to give prospective students a comprehensive overview of programmes and courses offered at the university.
The event, which was scheduled for two days, started on 2nd November 2023, at the University's Sports Complex and commenced with an exhibition of the various Colleges and their departments, showcasing their unique programmes. Over two hundred prospective students visited the UGBS stand to seek information about the school's top-notch programmes.

Professor Justice N. Bawole, the Dean of the Business School (UGBS) briefed the participants on the following topics:
1. Academic Programmes: Provision of information about the University's academic offerings, including undergraduate and postgraduate courses, majors, and minors.
2. Admission Requirements: Explained the admission criteria, including Grade Point Average (GPA) standardised test scores, and any additional requirements for specific programmes.
3. Career Opportunities: Talks about post-graduation career prospects and connections with industries and job placement services.
4. Financial Aid and Scholarships: Provision of details on available scholarships, grants, and financial aid options for students with specific regards to "Study Abroad Programs".
5. Support Services: Highlights on student support services like counselling, career services, and academic advising.

Prospective students were also offered guided tours of the campus and its facilities and also had the opportunity to ask questions to address specific concerns. They were also exposed to some campus facilities, including libraries, laboratories, lecture halls and student centres.
The second day had in attendance; a larger turnout of high school (SHS) students compared to the first day. These students were accompanied by their teachers, who guided them to the UGBS stand to gather information about the diverse business and marketing programmess and courses offered.
Parents and individuals in attendance had the opportunity to explore a wide range of exciting course offerings as well, including the UGBS special Master's programmes.

For some of the prospective students, the Open Day event provided a valuable overview of the programmes they wish to pursue and guidance on the best combination of courses. For others, the event served as a platform to discover their potential and identify the right fields to pursue.

This event was a great opportunity for prospective students and their families to explore the offerings at UGBS and make informed decisions about their educational journey.
