Prof. Agyapomaa Gyeke-Dako of UGBS Appointed to National Communications Authority Governing Board
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) congratulates Prof. Agyapomaa Gyeke-Dako, Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, on her appointment to the Governing Board of the National Communications Authority (NCA). Prof. Gyeke-Dako was officially sworn into office by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, on 14th July 2026 at the NCA Tower in Accra. She joins Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, Chairman of the Hajj Board and former Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency, as the two newest members of the Authority’s Governing Board. The appointments restore the Board to its full complement following the passing of two former members, Mrs. Augustina Odame and Dr. Seth Mahama Sayibu.
The appointments reinforce the Board’s capacity to provide strategic oversight of Ghan’s communications, telecommunications and digital technology sector at a time when the country is pursuing an ambitious digital transformation agenda, including expanded broadband connectivity, 5G deployment and innovation-driven economic growth. Congratulating the newly appointed members during the swearing-in ceremony, Hon. Samuel Nartey George commended them for their distinguished careers, leadership credentials and wealth of experience, expressing confidence that they would make valuable contributions to the work of the Authority.

Prof. Agyapomaa Gyeke-Dako is an accomplished economist and finance scholar whose academic and professional expertise spans economics, finance, banking and public policy. She earned a first-class bachelor’s degree in economics and geography from the University of Ghana before obtaining both her master’s degree in economics and financial economics and a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. At UGBS, she serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and has contributed extensively to teaching, research and policy engagement. She has also consulted for organisations including the Mastercard Foundation, USAID, the African Economic Research Consortium and Ghana's Ministry of Finance.
Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn-in members, Prof. Gyeke-Dako expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their commitment to serving diligently in support of the Authority’s mandate.
