Programme Profile
The MSc Clinical Leadership and Management programme is in response to the need to equip clinical staff (e.g. doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, etc); allied health professionals (e.g. laboratory or investigation professionals, biostatisticians, bio-medical engineers, housekeepers, etc); and other health professionals with appropriate leadership and management skills and competencies needed for effective functioning at the clinical/hospital/health facility level. The programme equally equips participants with the skills and competencies to drive quality improvements in health institutions with a focus on patient-improved outcomes. Being a fully synchronous online programme participants can keep their full-time job while pursuing a master’s degree.
Programme Duration
The programme runs for one year, made up of two semesters. However, students can have the option of opting to complete the programme in two years if their schedules do not allow them to complete in one year.

Minimum Graduation Credit Requirement
Students will need a minimum of 39 credits to graduate and will therefore be required to register for ten (10) core courses, made up of five (5) courses per semester. In addition, there will be a total of four (4) elective courses per semester, from which students will be allowed to choose one (1). Finally, students will be required to start their long essay/project work of 6 credits after the first-semester examination and will run through the second semester.

The courses are in modular form and so allow you the flexibility to continue to work and earn a master’s degree.
Programme Delivery Mode
The programme will be delivered through the block system, such that students can register for each block, complete modules in the block, and take exams related to those modules before proceeding to the next module as described below:
Semester One
Block 1A: Covers week 1, 2, and 3 for teaching CLAM 601 and CLAM 603
Block 1B: Covers week 4 for examining CLAM 601 and CLAM 603
Block 2A: Covers week 5, 6, and 7 for teaching CLAM 605 and CLAM 607
Block 2B: Covers week 8 for examining CLAM 605 and CLAM 607
Block 3A: Covers week 9, 10, and 11 for teaching CLAM 609 and one elective
Block 3B: Covers week 12 for examining CLAM 609 and one elective
Block 4: Covers week 13, 14, 15, and 16 for completion and submission of terms papers and assignments
Semester Two

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the programme leading to the award of a degree in MSc Clinical Leadership and Management, a candidate must have obtained a good first degree, with a second-class lower division or above, or its equivalent in an appropriate field of study, preferably in the Humanities, Health Sciences, and Basic and Applied Sciences at any recognized University. In addition to the above, work experience as a health professional will be an added advantage for admission.
