UGBS Marcomms holds Capacity Building training for Accra Technical University (ATU) Public Affairs Directorates.
The UGBS Marketing and Communications (Marcomms) team led by the Coordinator, Prof. Kobby Mensah, on Wednesday 24 th July 2024 held a capacity-building training for the staff of the Public Affairs Directorate of Accra Technical University (ATU). The training was on how to boost the brand equity of Accra Technical University using social media platforms. The training took place in the boardroom of ATU and focused on addressing key issues, trends and strategies in the deployment of the necessary tools and platforms for brand building.
Mr. Boniface Kwateng Amaning, the social media manager at UGBS Marcomms, emphasised the essence of understanding the requirements and processes of communicating on social media platforms and how each platform operates. "You can't sell anything if you can't tell anything," he said. He highlighted that understanding the requirement thoroughly is crucial and advised the ATU team to adopt the habit of setting social media goals and creating calendars that will help them with the scheduling of their social media posts.
Mr. Isaac Sarpong Owusu, the photographer and videographer from UGBS Marcomms, also took the team through photojournalism in brand building. On his part, the graphic designer Mr. Bismark Amamoo, spoke about ‘The formality of artwork using the institution’s brand manual’ to ensure consistency and originality. The training was highly engaging and productive.
In attendance were staff from the Public Affairs Directorate at Accra Technical University (ATU): Mrs. Salimat Froko, Mr. Manasseh S. Annor, Miss Juliana Tay, Miss Belinda O. Frimpong, and Mr. Joshua Okrah-Mensah and the UGBS Marcomms team.
