UGBS Alumnus Senyo Adu Joins KPMG in the United Kingdom
The University of Ghana Business School is pleased to celebrate Mr. Senyo Adu, an alumnus of the School, following his appointment to the United Kingdom office of KPMG, one of the world’s leading professional-services organisations.Mr. Adu joins KPMG as an Assistant Manager in Audit and Assurance Services. His appointment represents another important milestone in a professional journey distinguished by academic excellence, leadership, international exposure and a growing commitment to sustainable development.
A graduate of the University of Ghana Business School, Mr. Adu studied for a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration, specialising in Accounting. During his time at the University, he distinguished himself not only through his academic work but also through his contributions to student leadership and the wider university community. He served as President of the Business House Junior Common Room, where he represented students and helped coordinate initiatives intended to improve student life and strengthen engagement within the Business School community. His leadership experience at UGBS helped develop his interest in institution-building, problem-solving and creating opportunities for others.
Mr. Adu also represented the University of Ghana Business School in international case-study competitions in Europe and Africa. These competitions brought together students from different countries to analyse complex business challenges and present practical recommendations before expert panels. His participation provided him with international exposure and strengthened his capabilities in strategic analysis, teamwork and public presentation.
Following his studies at UGBS, Mr. Adu qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He has since developed experience across accounting, audit and assurance, working with organisations operating in several important sectors of the economy. Before joining KPMG in the United Kingdom, he worked with Société Générale, Colgate-Palmolive Ghana and Nigeria, and PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana. At PwC Ghana, he served as a Senior Associate within the assurance practice, where his responsibilities included leading audit teams and supporting engagements involving companies in the mining and oil and gas sectors across the West African sub-region.
His work required the coordination of multidisciplinary teams, engagement with senior client personnel and the application of professional judgement to complex financial and operational matters. The experience provided him with a deeper understanding of how major institutions operate and how strong financial governance supports sustainable business growth.Mr. Adu’s appointment at KPMG UK expands this international professional journey and gives him the opportunity to contribute his experience within one of the world’s most established professional-services networks. It also reflects the growing presence of UGBS graduates in influential organisations across the world.
Beyond his work in accounting and assurance, Mr. Adu has expressed a strong interest in sustainable energy and the importance of developing environmentally responsible alternatives to fossil fuels. He believes that Africa’s development will require solutions that combine commercial viability, technological innovation and long-term environmental responsibility. He ultimately hopes to contribute to collaborative ventures that develop practical and sustainable energy solutions, particularly for emerging markets. His ambition reflects a broader desire to apply his professional training to some of the most important development challenges confronting Ghana and the African continent.
