UGBS Alumnus Receives Presidential Appointment as Ghana's Next Ambassador to Turkey (Türkiye)

University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) alumnus, H.E Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh has been appointed as the next Ghana's Ambassador to Turkey (Türkiye) by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills and diplomatic prowess. 

Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh, a distinguished military officer, was born on April 21, 1962, in Asankrangwa, Western Region, Ghana. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Banking and Finance) from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. He also holds a Diploma in Management from the same university. 

Enlisted into the Ghana Military Academy in October 1984 as an Officer Cadet of Regular Career Course 26, Major General Andoh was commissioned on August 16, 1986. He began his career as a Platoon Commander in the 6th Infantry Battalion in Tamale. 

Throughout his career spanning over three decades, Major General Andoh has held various military appointments, including instructor at the Ghana Military Academy and Army Recruit Training School, Chief Instructor at the Jungle Warfare School, and Officer Commanding at the Jungle Warfare School. He has also served as Deputy Director of Army Training at the Army Headquarters, Assistant Director of Army Peacekeeping Operations at the Army Headquarters, and Commanding Officer of the Jungle Warfare School. 

In addition, Major General Andoh has held key appointments in international peace support missions, including Mortar officer in the 2nd Ghanaian Battalion at the ECOWAS Monitoring Group in Liberia, Company Commander at the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia, and Deputy Force Training officer at the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
