UGBS Alumni donates to Accra Psychiatric Hospital
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Alumni Body has donated essential supplies to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital as part of its commitment to social responsibility. The generous donation, comprising food, Sanitaries, liquid soap, antiseptics, syringes, gloves, bleach, and drinking water, aims to support the vulnerable in society.
During the presentation of the donated items, Prof. Lily Yarney, the President of the Alumni Body, emphasised the organisation's dedication to giving back to society. She expressed concern for those who, due to their inability to work, may struggle to meet their daily needs, particularly during the festive season. Prof. Yarney conveyed the alumni's heartfelt wish for the patients to experience joy and comfort during the festive season.
Members of the alumni body engaged with the hospital staff, posing questions about the hospital's operations and mental health. In a brief interview, Prof. Yarney urged the public to visit the patients, underscoring the significance of community involvement in uplifting their spirits.
The head nurse of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, PNO Amoo, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the institution, thanking both UGBS alumni and the University of Ghana for their thoughtful gesture.
