Teddy Ossei Kwakye
Teddy Ossei Kwakye is an academic scholar and accounting professional with a distinguished record in teaching, research, and professional development. He teaches at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels and has successfully supervised numerous theses and dissertations. His academic and professional interests include management accounting and control, corporate governance and reporting, financial and risk management, and sustainability accounting. His research employs advanced quantitative methods to examine how accounting information, business strategies, and governance influence firm performance and sustainability.
Teddy has published extensively in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals, including Meditari Accountancy Research, Accounting Research Journal, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, and Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies. He has also co-authored book chapters with leading global publishers, including Routledge, Springer Nature, and Edward Elgar. Currently, Teddy serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of Accounting & Organisational Change and acts as an ad hoc reviewer for other international peer-reviewed journals.
Beyond academia, Teddy holds important administrative and professional roles, serving on the boards and committees of various educational institutions, corporate organisations, and civil society groups. He has contributed to academic governance as a program coordinator and examination officer at the University of Ghana Business School.
Teddy’s memberships in professional associations such as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA & CIMA), the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), the African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA), and the Institute of Directors, Ghana (IoD-GH) show his strong commitment to advancing the global accounting profession. As an inspiring teacher, prolific researcher, and strategic academic leader, he continues to influence the development of accounting education, research, and practice in Ghana and worldwide.
Teddy holds a PhD in Accounting from La Trobe University, Australia, as well as an MPhil and a BSc in Accounting (First Class Honours) from the University of Ghana. He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).
