Ernest Y. Tweneboah-Koduah
Prof. Ernest Yaw Tweneboah-Koduah is a Professor of Social Marketing and Behaviour Change at the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, University of Ghana Business School. He did his first and second degrees (BSc Administration and MPhil Marketing) at the University of Ghana Business School and his doctoral degree from London Metropolitan University, UK. As a dedicated academic, administrator, and professional with 18 years of experience at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), he brings a strong track record of leadership, resource mobilization, academic excellence, and a steadfast commitment to innovation and institutional development.
Throughout his career at University of Ghana, he has progressively served in leadership roles, including his roles as Head, Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Chairman Safety and Security Services Committee, Chairman Marketing and Communications Committee and Coordinator of key programmes such as MA Marketing Strategy, Executive MBA and Weekend MBA Marketing programmes. These roles and his industry experience have equipped him with the strategic vision, operational expertise, and collaborative skills necessary to succeed in the academic environment.
In his leadership roles, he has spearheaded several transformative initiatives, including founding a successful company in the IT industry in Ghana. He has led the development of the MA Marketing Strategy and MSc. International Business programmes and has championed faculty recruitment and mentorship to enhance teaching and research excellence.
As a member of multiple statutory committees at the University of Ghana, including the Academic Board, the School of Graduate Studies Board and the UGBS School Management Committee, he has contributed to policy formulation and academic governance at both School and University levels. Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah currently serves as a Council Member of the Bible Society of Ghana and a Board Member of Next IT and Computer Engineering Ltd and Brainy Bain School. He is an Elder of the Church of Pentecost and worships with Pentecost International Worship Centre, Atomic, Accra.
As a Social Marketing and Behaviour Change Professor, he has contributed significantly to UGBS’s research output, authoring over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. His research focus on social marketing, service marketing, and entrepreneurship has garnered international recognition through presentations at conferences. He has published in peer reviewed international journals including Journal of social marketing, African Journal of Economics and Management Studies, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, Journal of African Business, International Journal of nonprofit and voluntary sector Marketing/ International Review on Public and Nonprofit Marketing, Journal of Nonprofit and Public Sector Marketing, Health Marketing Quarterly, Journal of International Food and Agribusiness Marketing, Marketing Intelligence & Planning, International Journal of Bank Marketing and International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
