Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) engages MESA, UGBS.
In a bid to foster a deeper understanding of the marketing profession among students, the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) engaged the Marketing and Entrepreneurship Students Association (MESA) on 24th November at the UGBS Executive Room.
The session, initiated by Mr. Musah Tornia Bakar, Director of CIMG, delved into crucial aspects of the marketing landscape. Exploring topics such as the mandates of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), professional marketing qualifications, associated fees, employment prospects, and recognised affiliations. Mr. Bakar, drawing from his extensive field experiences, emphasized the importance of cultivating relevant skill sets. He urged students to embrace internships as a means of gaining practical knowledge, highlighting key companies offering such opportunities. Emphasising the intrinsic value of experiences over monetary compensation, he encouraged students to focus on the insights gained.
Also in attendance was Miss Esmiralda Hongla Bekono, Director of the Ghana School (GSM) of Marketing. She had a presentation about what the Ghana School of Marketing does, its advantage over other schools offering the same programme and the need to consider the school when pursuing further marketing education. She also noted that the Ghana School of Marketing has been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana. She again shared some field experiences to encourage students on their career paths.
The interactive session concluded with a question-and-answer segment, allowing students to address concerns and seek clarification. Drawing from their own experiences, students who had encountered the discussed issues joined Mr. Bakar and Miss Bekono in providing valuable insights to their peers.
