Emmanuel Tetteh Asare

Dr. Emmanuel Tetteh Asare, was appointed as a senior lecturer to the Department of Accounting in August 1, 2018 and through dedication attained a senior lecturer position in February 1, 2022. Dr. Emmanuel Tetteh Asare graduated with a first-class Bachelor of Accounting at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and was awarded the best graduating student of his batch. He proceeded to Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, United Kingdom where he obtained a master’s degree in Oil and Gas Accounting. He later earned his PhD in Accounting and Finance (oil and Gas) in 2017 from the University of Dundee,Scotland,United Kingdom.

He is also an active member of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), Accounting and Finance in Emerging Economics-Special Interest Group (BAFA). He has also been an editorial advisory board member and a reviewer of international peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the GTEC Assessment Team. His research interests are; Extractive and Energy Accounting, Sustainability Accounting, Accountability and governance and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Dr. Asare has valuable teaching experience in Managerial Accounting (EMBA), Oil and Gas Accounting and Finance (MSc. Accounting and Finance), Corporate Reporting and Governance (MSc), Sustainability Accounting and Corporate Social Responsibility (MBA, MSC), Research Methods and Accounting Theory. He also believes that the rigid tradition of lecturers solely impacting knowledge while students mainly receive can be eliminated through focus group discussions, student-led lectures and group discussions. These, he is certain, would make teaching and learning fun.
