Akatsi Senior Technical High School Engages UGBS on Tertiary Education and Opportunities
On Wednesday, 3rd July 2025, the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) hosted students and staff from Akatsi Senior Technical High School as part of an educational visit aimed at introducing the students to university life and guiding them on the academic and career opportunities available at UGBS. Dr. Saviour Ayertey Nubuor, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Organisation and Human Resource Management (OHRM), led a detailed and interactive session with the students. He applauded the teachers’ efforts to equip their students with relevant information about tertiary education, enabling them to make informed choices and develop a strong academic focus in preparation for life after Senior High School.
Dr. Nubuor described the programmes offered at UGBS, including their structure, cut-off points, and the courses within each programme. He also discussed the general entry requirements and potential career paths for UGBS graduates. Dr. Nubuor stressed the importance of academic discipline, the consequences of poor performance, and pointed out the availability of financial aid schemes to assist talented but needy students.
Encouraging the students, he said, “You are capable. UGBS awaits you with better experiences that will shape your future.” The session ended with a question-and-answer segment, during which students asked thoughtful questions regarding university admissions, programme selection, and academic expectations. These were answered with practical advice to help them plan their educational journeys more effectively.
