2025 US Tour – January 2025

Scholarship – University of Akron

University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) - The University of Akron Scholarship Opportunity  
The UGBS is thrilled to announce a scholarship opportunity for our students in partnership with The University of Akron's College of Business (CoB)!  
 

Scholarship Details:  
•Award: $5,000 for up to 10 UGBS students  
•Program Eligibility: scholarship applies to all CoB graduate programs (MBA, MSM-Business Analytics, MSA, MTax)  
•The CoB graduate programmes will begin in the Fall of every year – August.

Procedures to Apply:   
1. Review Program Details: Carefully review the scholarship information and explore more about CoB and their graduate programs on https://www.uakron.edu/cba 

2. Prepare Application: Apply for your chosen CoB graduate program via http://www.uakron.edu/graduate/admissions/apply . The University of Akron has generously waived the application fee for UGBS students applying for this scholarship.  
3. Notify UGBS: Once you submit your application, please inform the UGBS International Relations Office via ugbsir@ug.edu.gh with your name, UGBS Programme, and Student ID, programme applied to.

The UGBS International Relations office will work directly with The University of Akron to track applications from UGBS students and ensure scholarship consideration.

UGBS Takes You Abroad   

a. Global Network Weeks - March and June 2024  
Global Network Weeks are events which are organized by the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) every year. During the Global Network Weeks, students and faculty get the opportunity to study intensively at another school and take courses that benefit from the strengths of that school. GNW also gives students the opportunity to network with students from other universities. Global Network Weeks are organized twice every year, in March for MBA students and in June for Executive MBA students. Students chosen for GNW weeks at other schools are responsible for covering all travel expenses. Additionally, they will receive introduction letters from both UGBS and the destination school to assist in obtaining a visa for the trip.  
b. University at Buffalo – April/September 2024  
Explore Innovation at the University at Buffalo:  
UGBS and UB presents students with the opportunity to visit UB and immerse yourself in a vibrant leadership programme with UB faculty, company visits and tour exciting sites in the city of Buffalo and experience life on a premier American campus.  
c. UGBS South Africa and Kenya Tour – September 2024  
Discover Kenya and South Africa's Rich Diversity:  
This Tour allows students to explore Kenya and South Africa, engage with renowned universities like University of Cape Town, University of Witwatersrand, University of Free State and explore unique Kenyan and South African culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes.  
d. UGBS Visits Lagos Business School, Nigeria March 2025  
UGBS is planning a visit to LBS and a tour to some of Nigeria’s top firms and famous sites. This trip will give students the opportunity to experience diverse African cultures and provide them with knowledge on doing business across the African continent.  
e. 2025 US Tour – January 2025  
Pursue academic excellence on a tour to some prestigious universities in the US. Visit iconic institutions like Princeton, Howard, MIT, Bentley Akron, Temple University and gain firsthand knowledge about their esteemed programs and rigorous academic environment. This program is designed for high-achieving students seeking admission to top-tier US universities. The trip also includes visits to some of America's top landmarks such as Empire State building, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Times Square, Statue of Liberty, White House, the US Capitol, Smithsonian Museum. The US tour also includes a two-day tour in Dubai.  
f. UGBS China Tour  
Discover the Powerhouse of Innovation in China  
Unveil the educational landscape of China on this UGBS exploration trip. Visit prestigious universities in China and witness firsthand the country's rapid rise in academic prominence. This program offers a unique opportunity to learn about Chinese culture, interact with students and faculty, and gain valuable insights into a major player in the global academic sphere.
