John Effah

John Effah is an Professor of Information Systems at the University of Ghana. His current research interests span areas of digital innovation in business, government, and society as well as biometric ID systems in developing countries. He holds a PhD in information systems from the University of Salford, UK as well as an MBA in MIS and a BSc in Business Administration (Accounting Option) with First Class Honours from the University of Ghana. He is a Senior Editor for the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries and a Deputy Editor-in-Chief for the African Journal of Information Systems. John is a past head of MIS Department at the University of Ghana Business School and Ag. Director of Institutional Research and Planning for the University of Ghana. Before joining academia, he worked as a Senior ICT consultant with Deloitte & Touche. John currently serves as an ICT consultant for the Government of Ghana on ICT Policy and Planning, advising the National Development Planning Commission on ICT related issues. He is the lead consultant for Ghana’s ongoing long-term ICT Planning and Policy Development. John also serves as an ICT consultant for the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education in Ghana and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana. He can be reached at jeffah@ug.edu.gh
