Agriculture Modernisation Conference 2025

Agriculture Modernisation Conference 2025

Africa is on the brink of a new era in agriculture. With the right innovations and collaborative efforts, the continent can unlock the full potential of its agricultural sector to ensure food security, generate employment, and drive inclusive economic growth. The Agriculture Modernization Conference 2025 is a strategic platform that brings together policymakers, researchers, development partners, agribusiness leaders, farmers, and youth to reimagine agriculture for the 21st century.

The main theme, “Innovative Agricultural Transformation and Sustainable Growth in Africa,” reflects the urgent need to modernize farming systems, integrate technology, and promote resilient practices that ensure long-term sustainability and prosperity for rural communities.

The conference which is a collaborative initiative of the Academics, Business Executives and Administrators Forum (ABAF), the University of Ghana Business School, and the School of Agriculture will address this vision through the following sub-themes:

  1. Strengthening and Developing Sustainable Agribusiness Value Chains
This sub-theme explores how to build efficient, competitive, and climate-resilient value chains. It focuses on improving access to finance, technology, infrastructure, and markets for smallholder farmers and agribusinesses.

  2. Promoting Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in Agricultural Value Chains
Ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized groups are active participants in agriculture is critical for sustainability. This theme promotes inclusive policies, capacity building, and equal access to resources across the value chain.

  3. Sustainability of Agricultural Value Chains to Enhance Food Security
With increasing climate challenges, sustainable practices are essential. This sub-theme looks at innovations in sustainable farming, agroecology, climate-smart agriculture, and food system resilience to reduce losses and enhance productivity.

This conference will serve as a springboard for policy innovation, investment opportunities, and knowledge exchange to accelerate Africa’s agricultural transformation. Through collaboration, innovation, and inclusion, we can build a future where agriculture is not only a source of livelihood but a driver of sustainable development.
