University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) holds Staff Durbar and End of Year Party
The University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) recently hosted a Staff Durbar and End of Year Party. Featuring a welcome address by the School Administrator, Mr. Emmanuel Poku-Sarkodee, he outlined the objectives of the meeting. Mrs. Betty Kallson, the HR Officer at the College of Humanities led the discussions where she presented on welfare and promotions, addressing topics such as promotion applications, staff upgrading, and the scheme of services.
Mr. Yaw Tsen Yeboah, the Assistant Registrar moderated the event, while the Dean of UGBS, Prof. Justice N. Bawole clarified issues discussed with some pieces of advice. He thereafter extended Christmas messages to all present. The event was crowned with the annual end-of-year party at the UGBS Graduate School.
During the party, the Dean of UGBS, Prof. Bawole highlighted the school's achievements in 2023, which include new programmes, new faculty members, and progress in the new graduate building. He expressed gratitude for the dedication of staff and faculty and observed a minute of silence for two colleagues who passed away within the year. The Dean also announced a mandatory health screening for faculty and staff starting January 2024 and encouraged participation. The Dean also revealed that the school will henceforth admit equivalent number of students graduating each year. He ended his speech by acknowledging sponsors of the school,
The party continued with lively music, dance and a performance by the School of Performing Arts. Different types of food, drinks, ice cream, fruits etc were also served.
