Amegashie Auditorium.
The JoyBusiness Town Hall Meeting is geared toward advancing conversations concerning issues in the business ecosystem and serving as a medium to proffer solutions to these issues. This edition tackled the State of the Economy, and had Dr. Benjamin Amoah, a Senior Lecturer at the Finance Department of UGBS, leading the student panellists through a series of discussions. The session was themed, “The Economy, IMF, Mid-Year Budget Review, and Matters Arising”. The panellists shared their ideas and offered possible solutions to the current economic issues the country is facing. It is their hope that these solutions given, will influence government policy decisions moving forward.
The Dean of the University of Ghana Business School, Prof. Justice N. Bawole, graced the occasion and delivered the keynote address. In his message, Prof. Bawole mentioned that everyone has a role to play in building the country, including the youth. He hopes that young people will take up responsibilities, like engaging in discussions like this one, as well as working hard and coming up with ideas, suggestions, and innovations that can drive the development of the country.
Speaking about the JoyBusiness Town Hall Meeting, he said, “A town hall meeting that seeks to discuss the economy is an important one”. Just like the panellists, the Dean also hopes that these conversations will shape national discourse and policy.
